Kyrgyzstan wants to set world record by preparing 1 ton of beshbarmak Bishkek, March 11, 2018. / Kabar /. For the first time in the history of Kyrgyzstan, an official attempt was made to set a world record for the preparation of the largest portion of beshbarmak.

More than 50 cooks worked on preparing 1000 kilograms of favorite national dish. For this, meat of 5 horses and 500 kilograms of noodles were used.

Also, the longest chuchuk in the world was made - 100 meters of a Kyrgyz delicacy.

IV World Forum for conservation of snow leopard and its ecosystems will be held in Kyrgyzstan Bishkek, March 7, 2018 / Kabar /. The Fourth World Forum for conservation of snow leopard and its ecosystems is expected to be held for the third time in Kyrgyzstan, the UN headquarter in New York announced this, where the International Forum for Protection of Wild Cats was completed.

Within the framework of the Forum, Head of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry Abdykalyk Rustamov held a meeting with Secretary General of CITES John Scanlon and the Executive Director of the Panther and with representatives of World Conservation Society Frederic Launay.

"The World Forum for conservation of snow leopard and its ecosystems held in Kyrgyzstan back in 2013 and 2017 allowed the countries of the snow leopard habitat to not only jointly discuss with the International partners the existing problems, but also to take agreed measures to preserve the population of these rare cats," Rustamov said.

Rustamov specifed that the International Forum on the UN fields will give an additional impetus to the activation of global efforts aimed at preserving wild cats, including the snow leopard population.

"The conservation and increase of the snow leopard population is one of the main tasks for all of us today. It is gratifying that the world community shares our concern about the threat of the snow leopard disappearance," Rustamov added and expressed Kyrgyzstan's readiness to adopt the Fourth World Forum for conservation of the snow leopard and invited the interested sides to take an active part in its work.

Current International Forum for Protection of Wild Cats is held with participation of the President of the General Assembly and the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, representatives of diplomatic missions of snow leopard countries, public figures, leaders and representatives of international and public organizations.

Switzerland and Kyrgyzstan launched a new project to improve health of the population in Kyrgyzstan Bishkek, March 7, 2018 / Kabar/. On March 6, 2018, the Ambassador of Switzerland to the Kyrgyz Republic Mrs. Véronique Hulmann and the Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Talantbek Batyraliev signed an agreement for a four-year project aiming at improving the prevention and management of non-communicable diseases.

According to the data of the Center for e-Health of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, in 2016 the main causes of mortality were non-infectious diseases, in particular: cardiovascular (50.4%) and oncological (12.0%) diseases, followed by injuries and intoxication (8.4%) and respiratory problems (5.7%).

The project will enhance the capacities of the primary health care system to prevent, manage and treat non-communicable diseases.

Malnutrition (particularly high salt intake), tobacco, alcohol and lack of physical activity have become major risks for non-communicable diseases. The project will minimize risks of contracting such disease by promoting healthy lifestyles and improving access to quality primary health care services.

The Government of Switzerland through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) has allocated more than CHF 4.3 million (about 300 million soms) to the project. The Ministry of Health will support the project by continuing to enhance the primary health care system.

A Consortium of organizations composed of “GFA Consulting Group” GmbH (Germany), “Euro Health Group” (Denmark) and Public Organization “Healthy Future” (Kyrgyzstan) will implement the Swiss funded project, with the support of WHO.

The first phase of the project, which will last until 2022, will be implemented in the Chui, Issyk-Kul, Naryn and Talas provinces of Kyrgyzstan.

Francophonie week 2018 in Bishkek Bishkek, March 7, 2018 / Kabar/. The French Alliance in Bishkek, jointly with the Embassies of Switzerland, France, Belgium, Canada, and the Delegation of the European Union are happy to announce the week of the Francophonie, which will be held from March 12 to 17, 2018 in Bishkek.

The “Francophonie Week” is the festival of the French language and cultures of the French-speaking countries, which is celebrated in the middle of March across the world. The organizers have prepared a program for the broad public to show the linguistic and cultural diversity of the French-speaking countries.

French is the fifth language spoken in the world and the third language for business. French is an official language in 29 countries and there are more than 274 million Francophones or French speakers worldwide.

The Francophonie week will be launched in Bishkek on March 12 with the French movie “Le sens de la fête” to be screened at 18:00 at the “Ala-Too” cinema.

The Belgian movie “Je suis mort mais j’ai des amis” (I’m dead but I have friends) will be shown on March 14 at 17:00 and the Canadian film “Maïna” at 19:00 at the Academy of Tourism (99 Chui avenue).

The Swiss animation film “Ma vie de Courgette” (My life as a Zucchini) will be screened on March 17 at 18:00 at the "Rossiya" cinema. All films are in French with Russian subtitles.

The Francophonie program will have 19 events during 6 days consisting of sport, cultural and artistic activities, such as competition of French songs, the French game "Petanque", and a quiz night, and many other events.

There will also be conferences on education in the French speaking countries (March 14 at 2pm in the Alliance française 242 Ogonbaeva street) as well as on the “Erasmus plus” programme in Europe (March 16 at 2 pm, same address).

Employees of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (NHTS MIA) of the Kyrgyz Republic congratulated women drivers on upcoming the 8th of March, International Women's Day in Bishkek today.

Lecture by American Researcher on Islam takes place in Bishkek Bishkek, March 7, 2018 / Kabar /.
