Bishkek, Oct. 6, 2017 / Kabar /. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a law on ratification of the agreement between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan on the state border on October 4, Uzbel memdia reported referring to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.
The Senate - the Upper Chamber approved the law earlier adopted by the lower parliament of the country (Oliy Majlis).
The law on ratification describes 1170.53 kilometers, or 85 percent of the state border.
Alisher Kurmanov, chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investments and Tourism, commented at the meeting of the upper house of parliament that the remaining part of the border between the two countries should be described in the near future.
Recall, on October 2, President Almazbek Atambayev signed a law on the ratification of the agreement between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border. The document was signed on September 5, 2017 in Bishkek.
The total length of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan is 1378 kilometers.
