Bishkek, Sept. 15, 2017. /Kabar/. Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament Chynybai Tursunbekov today, September 15, received Ambassador of India to Kyrgyzstan Lakshmanan Savitri, the press service of the Jogorku Kenesh reported.
The sides discussed the current state and prospects of the Kyrgyz-Indian cooperation, as well as a number of other issues of mutual interest. In particular, the participants of the meeting expressed their intention to build up and deepen relations in the sphere of exchange of experience in building and developing parliamentary democracy, cooperation in the field of tourism, health, culture and trade and economic cooperation.
The Speaker stressed the importance of further intensifying bilateral contacts in the mainstream of interparliamentary interaction and studying the rich experience of building parliamentary system in India. "To strengthen the inter-parliamentary partnership, all conditions and mechanisms have been created, including the legal framework. The Parliamentary Friendship Group with India has been established and is working in the Jogorku Kenesh, which facilitates the establishment of trust between the parliaments of the two countries," Tursunbekov said.
The Speaker drew the attention of the meeting participants to the need to increase interaction in the scientific and technical sphere, in particular in the field of IT-technologies, in which India is one of the world leaders.
The Indian Ambassador Lakshmanan Savitri emphasized that, the cooperation of the two countries has great potential for the development of not only political and inter-parliamentary dialogue, but also partnership in the field of trade, economic, tourist and investment ties.
At the meeting, the Ambassador invited Speaker Chynybai Tursunbekov to pay an official visit to India. The diplomatic envoy also voiced the intention to work together to exchange experience in the implementation of such projects as "Taza Koom" in Kyrgyzstan and "Digital India" in India.
