Journalists from Eurasian countries tour China ahead of 19th congress

Chengdu, Oct. 13, 2017 /Kabar/. The press center of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China organized a tour for journalists of Eurasian countries ahead of the congress.

According to data of the representative of the department for foreign journalists of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, some 98 journalists from Eurasian countries arrived in Beijing to cover the 19th congress at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China. “The journalists are divided into five groups and are travelling around China. In particular, they will visit five the most developing provinces of China," she said.

A group of journalists from Eurasian countries consisting of 11 people from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Ukraine are travelling Sichuan province to become acquainted with the economic and social development of the province in the southwest of China.

The journalists get acqauinted with the state of Sichuan province,its foreign trade cooperation with Eurasian countries, the results of construction of the One Belt, One Road project and many other activities in the province.

A press center for coverage of the 19th Congress of the Communist party of China is opened in Beijing on Wednesday.

Journalists arrive in Beijing from around the world every day. More than 1 thousand journalists will cover the congress.

The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China will be held in Beijing on October 18.

The National Congress of the Communist Party of China, which takes place every five years, is expected to witness a reshuffling of the party’s Central Committee, which has nearly 400 members and alternate members.

After the multiday party congress, the Central Committee will elect the country’s top leadership, known as the Politburo.
