Bishkek, Jan. 17, 2018 / Kabar /. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov met with UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative to the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Ozonnia Ojielo, the Kyrgyz Government’s press service reported.
Sapar Isakov, greeting Ozonnia Ojielo, congratulated him on the beginning of the mission as the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations system in the Kyrgyz Republic and the UNDP Resident Coordinator to the Kyrgyz Republic.
Isakov emphasized the fruitful work of Alexander Avanesov, who previously held the post of the UN Resident Coordinator and made a great contribution to the development of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the UN.
"Over the past years, the level of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and UNDP has significantly increased, within the framework of which a number of projects aimed at socio-economic development of the republic have been successfully implemented. Taking this into account, I would like to express my readiness to continue partnership with UN institutions in this direction, as UNDP programs play an important role in improving the lives of our citizens," he said.
The Prime Minister focused on the fact that Kyrgyzstan is confidently moving along the path of sustainable social and economic development.
From his part, UNDP Resident Representative to the Kyrgyz Republic Ozonnia Ojielo said that all the work of the UNDP system is focused on the tasks and issues that the Government and citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic are facing.
"I have an important mission - to continue the work started by my predecessor and be better. For my part, I want to assure you that we are ready for cooperation, support and fruitful work with the Government of Kyrgyzstan. You can always count on our help in implementing and supporting new ambitious projects, one of which is the national project Taza Koom and 40 Steps to a New Era program. These are very important and necessary projects for the society and the country. We are ready to support them," he said.
Speaking about the state and prospects of cooperation, the Prime Minister said that today relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and UNDP have reached a new level of intensity and interaction.
