Bishkek, May 15, 2018. / Kabar /. Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Altynay Omurbekova today met with representatives of international donor organizations that provide financial and technical assistance to the domestic health care system, the Kyrgyz Government’s press service reported.
Omurbekova thanked the international donor organizations for their assistance in developing and implementing various policy documents and strategies in the field of health.
She also told about the Government's program "Unity. Confidence. Creation”, where there is a separate block on public health services. “The main goal within the framework of the program is to have a tangible and measurable impact on the duration and quality of life for all citizens of the country, "she said.
Representatives of international and donor organizations informed about the current and prospective activity of their organizations, expressing their interest in continuing cooperation, including within the framework of the implementation of the Health Unit of the Government’s program.
During the meeting, the Vice Prime Minister reported that in her work the Government pays much attention to the achievement of 17 Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. At the same time, the emphasis will be on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals No. 3 "Good Health and Well-being", No. 6 "Clean Water and Sanitation" and No. 13 "Fighting Climate Change".
International organizations were represented by: Veronique Ullmann, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to the Kyrgyz Republic, Ha Nguyen, World Bank Health Project Manager, Jarno Habicht, Head of the World Health Organization Office in the Kyrgyz Republic and representatives of the German Development Bank.
